Since the 14th December 2008 Home Information Packs apply to all properties. Bonallack & Bishop can provide a complete pack for you within a few days.* Just call us at any of our offices, book online (see the HIP button on the home page) or ask your Estate Agent to contact us today and we will start processing your HIP straight away - this means you can get your property marketed today.
A home information pack is simply a collection of documents about your home, it includes:
- a description of the type of property ;
- evidence that you own the property ;
- information relating to the area in which you live so that buyers know if there are issues about subsidence etc
- an energy performance certificate which has to be completed by a qualified person.
Putting the pack together takes a few days* and the cost is £295 inclusive of VAT regardless of size of your property. With our HIP you can choose either to with pay as you go or defer payment until the property is sold** .
You still need a HIP pack even if you do not use an estate agent.
You can order your pack in several ways:
- Telephoning or dropping in at our offices in Salisbury, Andover or Amesbury and asking to speak to the HIPs team; or
- Going to our website at www.bishopslaw.com and clicking on the “Order your HIP Today” icon on the home page – please complete the form and click the submit button. The process begins automatically and you will be contacted by the surveyor to visit your property; or
- Ask your estate agent to contact us on your behalf.

* If your deeds are held by another solicitor or if we need to contact the freeholder of your leasehold property this will take longer but you will still be able to market your property within 14 days even if these prove difficult to get hold of.
** Pay Later agreement for 9 months will cost £35.00.
*** There are a few exceptions where you won’t need a HIP.
